Answers to the most common questions about learning to fly with Axiom Aviation.
Where are Axiom Aviation's flight schools in Utah and Idaho?
Axiom Aviation has three campuses: Ogden, Utah at Ogden-Hinckley Airport (KOGD), St. George, Utah at St. George Regional Airport (KSGU), and Idaho Falls, Idaho at Idaho Falls Regional Airport (KIDA).
How do I choose the right flight school in Utah?
Look for FAA-approved training, a well-maintained fleet, instructor availability, clear pricing and a defined path to your goal. Axiom offers all of these plus airline pathway programs like the SkyWest Pilot Pathway. Schedule a tour to see a campus in person.
How long does it take to become a pilot?
Most full-time students earn a Private Pilot License in three to five months. Reaching Commercial Pilot with instructor ratings through our Zero to Hero Program typically takes longer, and airline pilots need 1,500 hours for an Airline Transport Pilot certificate.
How much does flight school in Utah cost, and can I finance it?
Cost depends on the certificate and how often you fly. Axiom offers several flight school financing options and flexible programs like Pro Track. Contact admissions for a current estimate.
Do I need experience to start?
No. Most students begin with a discovery flight. You must be at least 16 to fly solo and 17 to earn a private pilot certificate.
Can I earn a college degree while I train?
Yes. Axiom partners with Purdue Global and Thomas Edison State University so your FAA certificates can count toward an aviation degree.
What aircraft will I fly?
Students train in a well-maintained fleet of Cessna aircraft. See the full aircraft fleet.
