Getting Started

Axiom students enroll at TESU through our corporate partnership. Follow the four steps below to begin.

1. Complete your online applicationIt takes about 10 minutes, and an admission decision is emailed to you within two to three business days. When the application asks for your employer or affiliation, select Axiom Aviation from the drop-down menu so your partnership benefits are applied.
2. Submit your official documentsSend any prior college transcripts, licenses, training records, FAA certifications and military training. TESU then issues a full academic evaluation showing exactly how your credit applies to your degree.
3. Schedule an appointment with a TESU academic advisorYour advisor builds an academic plan around the certifications you already hold and the ones you are still working toward at Axiom.
4. Enroll in your first courseWorking with your advisor and the Office of Enrollment Services, you register for your first term and start building your degree.

Aviation Degree Programs

The TESU School of Science and Technology offers aviation degrees at every level. FAA certifications earned at Axiom are used to satisfy area of study requirements, and the rest of the degree is completed entirely online through TESU courses and exams.

Which track fits you? Aviation Flight Technology is the natural path for Axiom students training for commercial flying, while Aviation Management prepares you for leadership roles in airline operations, airports and aviation business.

FAA Pilot Certifications That Earn Credit

The TESU Office of Professional Learning Review has evaluated the following FAA certifications and credentials for college credit. Credit can be applied toward most parts of a degree program, including the area of study in some circumstances, once you complete the certification and submit official documentation.

How to Submit Your FAA Certifications

1. Download the TESU form letterGet the form letter from the TESU Axiom page and personalize every field marked in red.
2. Check every certification you holdMultiple certifications can be submitted on the same letter.
3. Send the letter to the FAAMail your personalized letter to the FAA address printed in the letter.
4. The FAA notifies TESUThe FAA sends an Official College Credit Letter directly to Thomas Edison State University containing the information the University needs to award your credit.

Tuition and Fees

Axiom students receive TESU partner tuition rates. Credit awarded for FAA certifications reduces the number of courses you pay for, which lowers the total cost of your degree.

Undergraduate, non-nursing, per credit

Per credit rates apply to students planning to take up to 18 credits through TESU courses in a single year.

Additional fees

• Edison Accelerate fee of $3,468, which applies to students who earn fewer than 15 credits through TESU courses for an associate or bachelor's degree.
• Graduation audit fee of $98, paid in the year you graduate.
• Nursing practicum and clinical labs, $400 to $536.

Alternative Course Methods for Credit

Beyond standard online courses, TESU lets you earn credit by passing standardized examinations, completing web based course assessments, documenting college level learning acquired outside the classroom, or transferring credit from other regionally accredited institutions.
