Common questions about choosing a pilot training program at Axiom Aviation.
If you want to fly for fun, start with the Private Pilot Program. If you want to fly professionally and have no experience, choose Zero to Hero, the Career Pilot Program or Pro Track. If you already hold a Private Pilot License, the Private Pilot Credit Program picks up where you left off.
A Private Pilot License typically takes three to five months for full-time students. Career programs that end with Commercial Pilot and instructor certificates take longer, depending on how often you fly.
You need to be at least 16 to fly solo and 17 to earn a private pilot certificate, read, speak and understand English, and hold an FAA medical certificate. See our admissions page for details.
Most airline first officers need an Airline Transport Pilot certificate, which generally requires 1,500 hours. Many Axiom graduates build those hours as flight instructors after the CFI program.
