Women in flight FAQ

Questions female pilots ask us.

Not seeing yours? Call admissions or schedule a tour and ask in person.

Is Axiom Aviation a flight school for women?

Axiom trains pilots of every background, and we actively welcome women. Female pilots train in the same programs, aircraft and schedules as every Axiom student, at our Ogden, St. George and Idaho Falls bases.

Do I need any flying experience to start?

No. Most students begin with a discovery flight, where a certified flight instructor walks you through the airplane and lets you take the controls.

Are there scholarships for female pilots?

Yes. Women in Aviation International awards scholarships every year to its members for flight training, ratings and education. Join WAI, then apply when the WAI2028 cycle opens in summer 2027.

Can I combine a scholarship with financing?

Many students use a mix of savings, scholarships and financing. Talk with our admissions team about your budget and visit the financing page to see your options.

Can women in aviation build an airline career from here?

Yes. Our programs take you from private pilot through commercial and CFI, and partnerships like the SkyWest Pilot Pathway Program connect Axiom students to an airline career.
