Why Renter’s Insurance Matters
Most pilots assume the flight school’s or FBO’s insurance has them covered. In reality, that policy is written to protect the aircraft owner’s interests, not yours. If a rental aircraft is damaged because of something you did, the owner’s insurer may have the right to come after you to recover what it paid out, and a claim for injury or property damage can be brought against you personally.
