Idaho Falls Regional Airport is a towered field on the edge of the Snake River Plain, sitting at roughly 4,700 feet above sea level. That elevation makes it an outstanding place to learn: you train with real density altitude, plan true high-performance takeoffs and landings, and work with Class D airspace and instrument approaches from your very first lessons. Within a short cross-country you can be flying the Teton Range, the Caribou and Centennial Mountains, or the high valleys around Yellowstone.
